A bunch of you told me you have trouble with time management. So I thought I’d help you out with a quick tip.
It’s called the 5-50-10 Rule.
So how it works…
You just spend 5 minutes planning. So if you’re doing a quote, you might need to get your software, if you use a software. If you still use paper, then get your paper out or your Excel Sheet. Get the client details of what they want and anything else you need, and set it all up.
And for the next 50 minutes, you work solely on getting that quote done. You might not finish it. If you do, fantastic 50-minute quote!
After 50 minutes, take a 10-minute break. Stretch your legs, go get a coffee, talk to the wife and kids, who knows. Just take 10 minutes for yourself and then go back start again.
Five minutes to re-plan, get your head back to where you were at. And spend another 50 minutes straightaway to getting back into whatever you are doing. And after that, another 10-minute break!
So that’s the 5-50-10 Rule. It should help with your time management, increase productivity and overall help you out a bit.
